Telecommunication Standardization (CBC3)
Esta página também está disponível em Português (Brasil).
This Committee acts on the work of the Telecommunication Standardization Advisory Group (TSAG) and Study Groups (SGs) of the ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T). The CBC3 also deals with standardization issues related in the Permanent Consultative Committees, the Inter-American Telecommunication Commission (CITEL), and the Working Subgroup 1 - Communications (SGT-1), Mercosur.
Some CBC3 themes:
- Safety and languages in open communication systems, methods of use and other software aspects used in telecommunication systems;
- Integrated broadband networks to the cable TV transport, interactive multimedia content and other ubiquitous applications (e.g. e-health) or time-critical, such as voice, video on demand and interactive services;
- Systems, terminals and applications for multimedia services, protocols and signal processing (media coding);
- Tariffs and accounting principles for international telecommunication services, with the treatment of political and economic aspects;
- Performance end-to-end terminals and networks, considering the perceived quality and acceptance by voice, data, text and multimedia applications users;
- Signaling requirements and protocols for functions related to mobility, multimedia, access, network interconnection and Internet protocol;
- Architecture, evolution and convergence of next generation networks (Next Generation Networks / NGN), mobility requirements, signaling, interoperability and deployment scenarios;
- Mobile telecommunications networks, wireless internet services, fixed-mobile convergence, interoperability, and multimedia applications;
- Service, networking and telecommunications equipment management, including support for Next Generation Networks (NGN) and the evolution of Telecommunication Management Networks (TMN) model;
- Supply of services, including alarm and rescue in disaster relief, operational requirements emulation, name management, numbering resources, addressing, criteria, human factors, traffic assessment and service quality;
- Infrastructure wide area networks, metropolitan and local technologies associated with systems, equipment, optical fibers and control plans;
- Protection against the effects of electromagnetic environments (Electromagnetic Compatibility / EMC), operational safety aspects and effects on human health of telecommunications systems; and
- External and internal plant facilities, considering aspects of construction, finishing, corrosion protection and other forms of environmental aggression (except EMC).
The CBC3 consists of the following Rapporteurs Groups (GRNs):
