The Minister of Labor and Employment, Luiz Marinho, participated in a virtual meeting with the Secretary-General of the International Organization of Employers (IOE), Roberto Suarez, on Wednesday (21), to discuss the inclusion of employers' representatives in meetings of the G20 Working Group on Employment, in order to contribute to the discussions with the government and workers.
During the meeting, Luiz Marinho urged the need to reestablish a relationship between nations and rebuild public policies aimed at decent work, with cooperation between countries, governments and society. "We have many challenges that need to be addressed urgently and we are working on them. With the leadership of President Lula, we will together fight child labor, degrading work, work analogous to slavery, gender inequality and the political setback that we faced in the last government," added the minister.
The minister also stressed that he will invite employers' representatives to participate in the next meetings of the G20 Working Group on Employment, in order to strengthen dialogue and debate in favor of a more decent, fair and equal world of work.
Roberto Suarez, stated that the IOE wants to collaborate with the debate to create objective conditions to face the current problems of the professional world and extinguish prejudices, specifically with regard to gender equality in the labor market, together with the Brazilian government and the working class.
