Minister receives representatives from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)
The Minister of Labor, Luiz Marinho, hosted a meeting with the representative of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Brazil, Morgan Doyle, and the head of IDB's Labor Market Division, Laura Ripani. During the meeting, Morgan Doyle praised the minister on the release of the 1st National Salary Transparency and Remuneration Criteria Report. Marinho thanked the visit and highlighted the importance of international cooperation with the IDB to promote employment policies and economic development in the country, especially considering the topics discussed at the G20.
With the goal of intensifying the IDB's cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE) and identifying possibilities for contribution in relation to the G20 and the new needs of the Brazilian government, Doyle reaffirmed the IDB's support for the MTE's public policies and initiatives that boost the job market and economic development in Brazil.
"We are collaborating within the G20, in the working group that deals with labor mechanisms. We really wanted to hear the government's priorities and, on the other hand, also define our agenda with the Ministry, because we have a series of works on the issue of gender and diversity, the issue of the future of work, artificial use, which are very relevant topics for the Ministry and for us", explained Doyle.
Ripani praised Brazil's efforts to modernize labor policies, highlighting that the IDB's partnership with the country has a history of almost 50 years. “We appreciate the ability to continue this work within a pragmatic and transparent environment.”
