Brazil assumes the presidency of the G20

On November 7th, at the Headquarters of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva, the G20 Work Follow-up Handover took place, that is, the passing of the baton of the G20 Working and Employment Group from India to Brazil.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the member countries of the Group of 20, including South Africa, which will receive the presidency in 2025, after Brazil.
Among those present were the head of the Special Advisor on International Affairs of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, Valter Sanches, who represented Brazil at the ceremony and highlighted the country's priorities, as well as those of the employment segment for the G20. In addition to Valter Sanches, Ambassador Cecilia Kiku Ishitani, representing the Permanent Mission of Brazil to the UN and other International Organizations in Geneva, the Director-General of the ILO, Gilbert Houngbo, were present at the ceremony.
Brazil highlighted as priorities of his presidency: Social Inclusion, Sustainable Development and the Reform of International Governance Institutions.
The priorities of the Employment segment for the G20, i.e. the Working Group on Employment (EWG) of the Group of 20 are: creating quality jobs and promoting decent work to ensure social inclusion to eliminate poverty; just transition taking into account the digital and energy transformations; technology as a means of improving the quality of life for all; gender equality and promoting diversity in the world of work.
