Brazil Recognized at the 9th Climate Bonds Awards for Efforts in Sustainable Transition Policies
Brazil has been awarded at the 9th Climate Bonds Awards, receiving the Strongest Effort in Integrated Transition Policy Award. This recognition highlights the Brazilian government's efforts in environmental and social sustainability, notably the launch of the first sustainable public bond by the National Treasury in November 2023, based on the Brazilian Framework for Sustainable Sovereign Bonds.
The Strongest Effort in Integrated Transition Policy Award acknowledges the country's commitment to aligning its economic, environmental, and social policies. In this context, the Ecological Transformation Plan is a comprehensive strategy to promote a new, inclusive, and sustainable development model through coordinated actions for environmental conservation, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, promotion of renewable energy, circular economy, green financing, and social inclusion, among other initiatives.
