MDIC publishes call for individuals interested in joining Brazil-USA CEO Forum
The Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC) published this Tuesday (July 9) a public call for applications from individual executive directors interested in joining the Brazil-USA CEO Forum.
Established in 2007, the Brazil-USA CEO Forum is a communication mechanism between Brazil and the United States that aims to strengthen economic and commercial ties between both nations. The Forum welcomes representatives from both the public and private sectors from both countries.
From the public sector, the Brazilian side is represented by the Chief of Staff of the Presidency of the Republic and by the minister of Development, Industry, Trade and Services. The US side is represented by the secretary of Commerce and by the director of the National Economic Council. From the private sector, members form a single committee, comprised of two sections, one from the United States and one from Brazil.
During the Forum's Plenary Session, CEOs from both countries discuss strategic economic and commercial bilateral issues, including industry, trade, the environment, energy, defense, infrastructure, education and small and medium-sized businesses. The private sector sessions generate recommendations that are presented to the Brazilian and US governments.
The joint recommendations must reflect the perspectives, needs and concerns of the private sector regarding the creation of an environment that fosters increased commerce between Brazil and the United States.
