What is e-DBV?
The Eletronic Traveller´s Declaration of Goods (e-DBV) is the electronic document that the passenger has to fullfil his obligations with minimal intervention by the Customs, either when leaving or arriving in the country. It is available on the website of the RFB or through self-service terminals at points of entry in the country, which have the service.
The e-DBV brings comfort and convenience to travelers, who can complete and transmit his declaration when he is still abroad, in advance of thirty (30) days, and ensure advance payment of import tax for home banking, speeding his passage through Customs . The tax can also be paid by debit cards, in the places where the service is available.
Travellers can fill in the e-DBV, save as a draft for later modification and editing it after transmission before its registration in Aduana. At any time, travellers can consult a registered declaration and tax status of declared goods.
After filling and transmission, the traveler must submit himself to the supervision of the Federal Revenue of Brazil (RFB), in the channel goods to declare, in possession of the receipt of e-DBV transmission with bar code (printed or on the screen of a mobile device) and, case of a payment already made, the DARF/proof of payment.
At land border crossing-points, where, possibly, there are no channels "goods to declare" and "nothing to declare", the traveler must present himself to customs supervision before the start of any inspection procedure, in possession of the receipt of e-DBV transmission with bar code (printed or on the screen of a mobile device) and, case of a payment already made, the DARF/proof of payment.
