President Lula to Meet with Japanese Prime Minister

On Tuesday (November 19), President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva received Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba in Rio de Janeiro. It was their first meeting since the Japanese leader took office in October 2024.
Lula and Ishiba scheduled a visit by the Brazilian president to Japan next March, accompanied by a business delegation.
On the Brazilian side, the meeting was attended by Ministers Mauro Vieira (Foreign Affairs) and Carlos Fávaro (Agriculture), along with the Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Trade, Márcio Elias Rosa.
Lula and Shigeru Ishiba also discussed hybrid and hydrogen-powered cars and addressed cooperation in agriculture and industry and financing for the Brazilian agricultural sector.
