President Lula meets with Emmanuel Macron in New York

In an agenda parallel to the United Nations 79th General Assembly, in New York, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva had a bilateral meeting this Tuesday, September 24, with President of France Emmanuel Macron.
The Brazilian and French leaders discussed cooperation in the industrial and defense sectors, as well as visa issues at the Brazil-French Guiana border. Lula and Macron also addressed the Year of Brazil in France and the Year of France in Brazil, both set for 2025, when the two countries will celebrate 200 years of diplomatic relations.
The two presidents also discussed the conflict in Ukraine, the situation in Venezuela, and cooperation with Haiti to foster safety and development in the Caribbean country.
