Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva held a bilateral meeting with the President of the Swiss Confederation, Viola Amherd, this Thursday, June 13, in Geneva. Amherd invited the Brazilian leader to participate in a peace summit between Russia and Ukraine, to be held June 15 and 16 in Switzerland.
The president commended Switzerland for organizing the Conference but reiterated Brazil's position that a solution to this crisis requires the participation of representatives from both sides in the conflict. He also expressed Brazil's interest in participating and facilitating peace discussions between the two countries.
