In a speech during the Summit of Mercosur Heads of State in Rio de Janeiro, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva recognized the bloc as a strategic coordination space for global issues and invited countries to act as partners in building actions for the success of the G20.
I want to count on your support and participation, because we are going to have dozens of meetings of many ministries and issues and you know that all the comrades of Mercosur and South America are our guests in building the success of this situation"

"Mercosur is a strategic coordination space also for global issues. In two years, Brazil will host the COP30 and I hope that all of you will be actively participating, which is the first time in history that the Amazon will speak of itself," said the president.

"The project that will lead us to the Belém COP goes through the presidency of Brazil at the G20. We are going to hold, possibly, the most important meeting and I want to count on your support and participation, because we are going to have dozens of meetings of many ministries and themes and you know that all the comrades of Mercosur and South America are our guests in building the success of this situation," Lula added.
He stressed that the country's theme is “building a just world and a sustainable planet” and recalled that the Brazilian Presidency will have three lines of action: "first, social inclusion and the fight against hunger and poverty. Second, energy transition and sustainable development. Third, global governance reform, " he concluded.
