Minister Márcio Macedo receives letter for Lula from Ukrainian community in Portugal

Brazil’s Minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency Márcio Macêdo met today with representatives of the Ukrainian community in Portugal at the Brazilian Embassy in Lisbon. During the meeting, he received a letter addressed to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva explaining Ukraine’s stance concerning the conflict with Russia to the Brazilian government.
After receiving the letter, which was forwarded and read by the president, the minister highlighted President Lula’s and the Brazilian government’s actions in favor of international efforts to mediate peace between Russia and Ukraine. In this regard, the minister informed that, as determined by President Lula, the special advisor for International Affairs Celso Amorim is to go to Kiev to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
At President Lula's request, Márcio Macedo emphasized that Brazil is committed to contributing to dialogue and peace, and to help to the end of the conflict.
