WORK VISA (Temporary visa VITEM V)
a) Procedures:
Work authorisation by the Brazilian Ministry of Justice and Public Security is required prior to visa application. The work petition must be filled by the applicant's Brazilian sponsoring company. Once the work authorisation has been granted by the Brazilian Ministry of Justice and Public Security (Ministério da Justiça e Segurança Pública), it is published in the Official Gazette and forwarded to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) and consequently, to the corresponding Brazilian consular office abroad.
Please note the Embassy of Brazil in Zagreb can only accept work temporary visa (VITEM V) applications after receiving the work authorisation. In order to confirm whether an authorisation has been received by the Embassy, please send an e-mail to: consular.zagreb@itamaraty.gov.br
b) Instructions for lodging your application:
1- Collect all the required documentation listed on the table below;
2- Access the link https://formulario-mre.serpro.gov.br/sci/pages/web/ui/#/servicos-estrangeiros, fill in the online visa application form and upload the documents, photo and signature;
3- Conclude the application form, print and sign the Visa Request Form Receipt – RER.
4- Send the Visa Request Form Receipt – RER, scanned copies of all the required documents and proof of visa fees payment to the consular sector email (consular.zagreb@itamaraty.gov.br);
5- The consular sector will analyse your application and, if everything is correct, will send an email with an appointment date at the embassy;
6- On the scheduled day, bring the passport, all the original documentation and proof of payment in order to collect your visa.

Must be filled in online at the following link: https://formulario-mre.serpro.gov.br/sci/pages/web/ui/#/servicos-estrangeiros When filling in the application form, on tab #4, "Professional Data", the applicant must provide all the requested information about his/her non-Brazilian employer. On tab #5, "Contacts", besides one own contact information, the applicant must provide in "Contact in Brazil" name and complete address of the responsible person from the Brazilian sponsoring company, and in "Include Other Contact", one must provide name and complete address of the Brazilian sponsoring company. Print only the Visa Request Form Receipt (RER), sign it and paste your photo. |

The photo must be recent, front view, white background, size 3.5 x 4.5 cm. Pictures used on former visas will not be accepted. |
3 | Valid passport | With at least two blank pages. Please note that amendments and endorsements pages are for the sole use of issuing country authorities and visas will not be placed on these pages. |
4 | Original non-criminal record certificates |
Applicant must present two types of certificate: a) Certificate of no criminal proceedings (Uvjerenje da se ne vodi kazneni postupak), to be apostilled by the relevant Municipal Court (Općinski sud); b) Certificate of no prior convictions (Uvjerenje iz kaznene evidencije da osoba nije osuđivana), to be apostilled by the Ministry of Justice and Administration (more information is available on the Ministry’s website: https://mpu.gov.hr/nadovjera-legalizacija-isprava/25282). They must have been issued in the last 3 months before visa application. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENT MUST BE AUTHENTICATED BY "THE HAGUE APOSTILLE CONVENTION" FIRST AND THEN OFFICIALLY TRANSLATED INTO PORTUGUESE OR ENGLISH BY A COURT INTERPRETER. |
5 | Original birth certificate |
Must have information on applicant's parents full names. THE DOCUMENT MUST BE AUTHENTICATED BY "THE HAGUE APOSTILLE CONVENTION" FIRST AND THEN OFFICIALLY TRANSLATED INTO PORTUGUESE OR ENGLISH BY A COURT INTERPRETER. |

d) Registration with the Federal Police
Holders of this type of visa must register with the Federal Police within 90 days from first entry in Brazil. Contact the Federal Police directly to learn how to register.
The Embassy anticipates that, among other documents, the applicant will have to present the Visa Application Form (FPV) provided upon issue of the visa, as well as their original full birth certificate, containing the parents' full names.
e) Family reunion
The applicant's family must apply for Family Reunion visa (VITEM XI).
If applying for extended-stay visa for immediate family members: marriage certificate, birth certificate, or other official dependency document, which also must be authenticated by "The Hague Apostille Convention" if the document had been issued by a country party to the Apostille Convention, and officially translated into Portuguese. When the issuing country is not a party to “The Hague Apostille Convention”, the official dependency document has to be legalised at the Embassy or Consulate of Brazil which has jurisdiction over the place where the document has been issued, and officially translated into Portuguese or English.
f) Notes:
1- The requirements listed are not all-inclusive. When processing a visa submission, the Embassy may request additional information and/or documentation.
2- Passports must be valid for the entire period the individual intends to remain in Brazil. No minimum passport validity is required.
3- The Embassy accepts visa submissions by the applicant in person or by a third person on their behalf (in this case, a corresponding written authorisation by the applicant or his/her employer is required). Once all the requirements have been met, visas are normally processed on the same day when the complete documentation is presented around 10:00 am.
g) Visa fees:
- All nationalities: EUR 105,00
except
- USA passport holders: EUR 304,50
- UK passport holders: EUR 225,75
