VISA EXEMPTION
- tourism;
- participation in meetings, fairs and business events, journalistic coverage, prospecting for commercial opportunities, and signing of contracts;
- carrying out an audit or consultancy;
- transit through Brazil when travelling to other countries;
- artistic or sporting activities;
- health treatment;
- study, carrying out scientific research activities, scientific cooperation, academic extension, teaching and learning and supervised academic internships;
- volunteer work;
- reporting or filming;
- adoption of a Brazilian minor;
- to work on board a cruise ship along the Brazilian coast, or as an aircraft crew member;
- to carry out seafaring activities, on a continuous basis, on board a foreign-flagged vessel or platform, which may operate or is operating in Brazilian jurisdictional waters;
- to the foreign minor adopted by a Brazilian citizen or by a foreigner residing in Brazil, to apply for a residence permit in Brazil;
- to foreigners who have a registration application protocol or applicatoin for an extension of length of stay in Brazil;
- to nationals of other countries over 60 (sixty) years of age, disabled, holder of residence permits for an indefinite period, or those who have an expired National Migratory Registry (CRNM) ID card;
- to Brazilian citizens bearers of passports of another nationality, on an exceptional basis;
- to foreigners who have a refugee application receipt slip from Brazil, under the terms of CONARE Normative Resolution No. 23;
- for family union based on marriage by proxy.
As a visitor, you will be allowed to stay in Brazil for up to 90 days. The exact limit will be given by the immigration authorities upon entry.
Airlines and the immigration authorities in Brazil may also require some additional information before allowing you to board a plane towards Brazil and to enter Brazil. We recommend that you bring any letters of invitation, proofs of funds for subsistence or sponsorship compatible with the status of an international traveller and also compatible with time you're planning to spend in Brazil, as well as proof of hotel reservations, return tickets or anything that proves that you have no intention of staying in Brazil.
For those returning to Namibia afterwards: Namibia may demand that you're vaccinated against Yellow Fever to allow you back into the country. Brazil doesn't require that vaccine, though. The vaccine is recommended, though.
