Temporary Visa XIV “digital nomad"
Temporary Visa XIV (VITEM XIV) can be granted to foreign citizens without employment contract in Brazil whose professional activity can be performed remotely, the so called “digital nomad".
VITEM XIV holders will have an initial residency period of up to one (1) year.

Complete the Form and a receipt is generated. The receipt must be printed and signed by the applicant. The original receipt must be uploaded on the e-consular system (Please check "How to Apply"). |

Provide a photo with your application along with the upload of a digital copy of your photo, signature and other supporting documents to your application process. (Photos must be printed on photo quality paper. The photo quality paper can be either matte or glossy photo paper in a neutral background.) |
Valid Passport |
Original passport signed by applicant, with at least two contiguous blank pages left. |
Round trip-ticket | Present a hard copy of the round-trip-ticket or e-ticket bearing applicant’s name; or A signed letter from the airline or travel agent, on their letterhead, with the itinerary, name(s) of the passenger(s), flight number or cruise information, and dates of arrival and departure from Brazil |
Background check | Criminal Record from all the countries in which the applicant has lived in the past five years, including New Zealand. Those records must have been issued within the last 90 days (to obtain your NZ Police Criminal Record, click here). |
Employment or service contract | Document must be signed by a foreign employer/service contractor. And state that the visa applicant is allowed to perform his duties remotely. |
Proof of income, from a foreign paying source, in a monthly amount equal to or greater than US$ 1.500 or Bank statements as proof of funds in the amount no less than US$ 18.000 | Please use application date foreign exchange rate to check the amounts in NZ Dollars. |
Health insurance valid in Brazil | International travel insurance certificate that covers the duration of your planned stay in Brazil. |
Paymenf of consular fees | Check the consular fee list here. |

Receipt of application form must be uploaded to the E-consular platform: https://ec-wellington.itamaraty.gov.br/
After your application is validated on the e-consular platform, you will receive an e-mail with further instructions on how to mail and pay for your visa application
