Diplomatic and official visas.

The diplomatic visa is granted to diplomats, government staff or employees of International Organizations with diplomatic status on an official mission to Brazil, either permanent or temporary.

The official visa is granted for those on an official mission to Brazil, either permanent or temporary, without diplomatic status.

The request must be done by Diplomatic Note from the government or organization that the applicant will be representing.

The visa will be issued for the duration of the mission, as approved by the authorities in Brazil.

For stays over 90 days, holders of this type of visa must register with the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs within 30 days of entry in the country and submit a copy of the visa application form provided by this Consulate.

This visa cannot be issued on passports from Kosovo, Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic and Taiwan, as Brazil does not maintain diplomatic relations with these countries.

Lenght of stay in Brazil:

Up to 2 years. On a reciprocity basis, this visa may be issued for a longer period, if specified in the Diplomatic Note.

Documentation	Comments
Applicant’s valid passport	Original passport signed by applicant, with at least two contiguous blank pages left. Please note that pages reserved for amendments cannot be used for visa purposes. Your passport must be in good condition in order to be accepted as a valid document. It must not be torn, wet, damp, stained, cut, punctured, excessively dirty etc. Adults must sign their passports. Passports of minors do not need to be signed. Please note that very few countries have passports which do not require signature. Check your passport and make sure it is signed if there is a field for it.
One 2x2 inches	Provide a printed photo with your application along with the upload of a digital copy of your photo, signature and other supporting documents to your application process. (Please note that the upload and a hard copy of your photo are mandatory). Photos must be printed on photo quality paper that can be either matte or glossy photo paper in a white background.
Visa application form	Complete the online form. There is no printable version available for download. Enter complete information – please note that some fields are mandatory. Parents' names must be entered in full (name and surname), exactly as displayed in the applicant's birth certificate. Click on the "Complete Application" button to generate the Visa Request Form Receipt (RER). Print and sign the RER; affix your photo on the indicated field. For minor children (under 18 years old), the printed RER must be signed by both parents.
Diplomatic Note	Must state the details of the applicant’s assignment in Brazil. If the applicant is willing to travel accompanied by their spouse / partner / children, click here to check their eligibilty. If eligible, the Diplomatic Note must name the accompanying family members. For members of the family other than spouse, partner or children under the age of 21, a courtesy visa (VICOR) may be granted.
