- The diplomatic visa is granted to diplomats, government staff or employees of International Organizations with diplomatic status on an official mission to Brazil, either permanent or temporary.
- The official visa is granted for those on an official mission to Brazil, either permanent or temporary, without diplomatic status.
- The request must be done by Diplomatic Note from the government or organization that the applicant will be representing.
- The visa will be issued for the duration of the mission, as approved by the authorities in Brazil.
- For stays over 90 days, holders of this type of visa must register with the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs within 30 days of entry in the country and submit a copy of the visa application form provided by this Consulate.
- This visa cannot be issued on passports from Kosovo, Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic and Taiwan, as Brazil does not maintain diplomatic relations with these countries.
Lenght of stay in Brazil:
Up to 2 years. On a reciprocity basis, this visa may be issued for a longer period, if specified in the Diplomatic Note.
