World Portuguese Language Day
On May 5th, 2024, the Embassy of Brazil, jointly with the Embassy of Portugal, celebrated the World Portuguese Language Day at the Brazilian Residence with a “Sarau” of song, music and poetry. Authorities, members of the diplomatic corps and academics attended the event, as well as representatives of the Brazilian and Portuguese communities in Tehran and friends from the local society interested in our culture and language. The event consisted of introductory words by the Ambassadors of Brazil and Portugal and performances by the Brazilian pianist, Vera Erdinç and the singer, Elif Çakir, with songs from both countries. The Ambassador of Portugal also participated singing “fados”, among them “Coimbra” and “Fado Tropical”.
