VITEM V - Work
WORK VISA
Working in Brazil is a privilege, not a right. Applicants seeking work in Brazil must be sponsored by a Brazilian employer. Requirements must be met by both the employer and the applicant.
Applicants must have lived in Bulgaria or Macedonia for at least one year prior to the visa application.
A work permit process is to be submited by the Brazilian sponsoring company to the Brazilian Ministry of Justice to be analysed. On average, it takes 30-90 days to obtain a work permit approval.
Further information on how to apply for a work permit is to be obtained with the sponsoring company's lawyer or at the Ministry of Labor's Website. For detailed information please access here.
Only after approval by the Ministry of Justice in Brazil will the Ministry of Foreign Relations authorize processing the Visa. At this stage, the following documents must be submitted to the Consulate:
- One Visa Application Form per applicant, completely filled out online, dated and signed by the passport holder. (You will need to print only the receipt page with the bar code: sign it and glue the picture.);
- Your passport, valid for at least 6 months, with at least one blank visa page available;
- one recent 5" x 5" passport-type photo, front view, white background. Snapshots and computer pictures are not accepted;
- Certificate of Prosecution / Conviction History or an equivalent document must be produced. This certificate may be requested at the Municipal Tribunal of Justice. Note that it may take two to eight days for the document to be issued.
- In all cases, the Consulate may request additional information or documentation as deemed necessary.
Please note that registration with the Brazilian Federal Police must be made soon after arrival in Brazil. (For this purpose, make sure you take the second copy of your application form which will be returned to you duly stamped by this consulate.)
