Trade Promotion Department

The Trade Promotion Department (SECOM) of the Embassy of Brazil in Sofia is part of a network of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) made up of 100 representations spread across all continents, under the coordination of the Department of Trade and Investment Promotion (DPR).

SECOM's main objective is to promote closer economic and trade ties between Brazil and Bulgaria by supporting Brazilian companies wishing to export or invest in Bulgaria and facilitating contacts between potential Bulgarian investors and business partners in Brazil.

 Brazilian companies interested in exporting can register for free on Invest & Export Brasil, the federal government's official trade promotion and investment website. Once registered, the company will be included in a directory made available to foreign importers interested in doing business with Brazil.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also supports Brazilian exports through the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex), which offers consulting services, market research and incubator programs for startups and business rounds with Bulgarian companies.

The main activities carried out by SECOM are the following:

Support for Brazilian companies interested in exporting to the local market;

Support for companies located in its area of operation that are interested in importing Brazilian products or making direct investments in Brazil;

Disseminating information on commercial and investment opportunities;

Preparing or contracting market research;

Analysis of the export potential of Brazilian products in its area of activity;

Identification of possible obstacles and restrictions to Brazilian exports in its area of activity and suggestions for alternatives to overcome these restrictions;

Analysis of competitiveness and competition;

Support for public and private entities in participating in trade fairs, business missions and other events of interest to trade promotion, and;

Publicizing trade fairs and other events.

 NEW GROWTH ACCELERATION PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT & SUSTAINABILITY - PAC

The aim of New PAC is to familiarize potential investors and interested persons from Bulgaria with the investment projects in sectors such as energy, logistics, urban and social infrastructure.

The announcement of a new investment plan provides clarity on the Government's federal investment priorities, setting the course for investment in infrastructure and development for the period 2023-2026.

The government's efforts to implement the New PAC are likely to boost construction industry activity and market over the period above mentioned.
