VITEM XIV - Retirees, Pensioners and Digital Nomads

For retirees, pensioners and digital nomads wishing to establish residency in Brazil.

Eligibility

Foreign citizens that wish to establish temporary residency in Brazil, as follows:

Retirees and pensioners transfering retirement income or pension benefit due to death (Normative Resolution No. 40/2019);
Digital nomads (Normative Resolution No. 45/2021).

Terms and Conditions

Based on Normative Resolutions No. 40/2019 and No. 45/2021 of the National Immigration Council;
For retirees and pensioners, visas are issued for up to 1 year and the residency period is valid for up to 2 years, with future extensions allowed at the discretion of Brazilian Federal Police (see below);
For digital nomads, the visa and residency period are valid for up to 1 year, with future extensions allowed at the discretion of Brazilian Federal Police (see below);
Holders of any Temporary Visa must register with the Federal Police in Brazil within 90 days from first arrival in the country. Applicants will receive a Visa Application Form from the Embassy upon the issuance of the visa, which must be presented for such registration,

Required Documents

Application Form	Filled-out Online Visa Application Form Click "SEND" to receive your processing number and receipt; Print the receipt; Attach one PASSPORT SIZE color photograph over white background. Snapshots and computer pictures are not accepted; SIGN the receipt and deliver it to the Consular Section together with all other required documents (walk-in basis, no appointment needed).
Passport	Valid for no less than 6 months (damaged or defaced passports will not be accepted); With at least 2 blank visa pages remaining (exluding those marked for amendments and observations).
Proof of immigration status	For non-Singaporeans/PR, original or front and back copy of the applicable pass (EP, S Pass, DP, LTVP, Student Pass etc.); For permanent residents, original or front and back copy of the NRIC ("blue IC").
Air ticket	Valid ticket, showing the airline's booking code (travel agent's or any other third party's code will not be accepted); Applications with only a flight pre-booking or intend itinerary will not be entertained.
Criminal background check	Certificate of non-criminal conviction, issued within the past 90 days by the Singapore Police Force (Certificate of Clearance - COC) and for every country the applicant has lived in for the past 12 months. If the certificate is not issued in Singapore it must be certified by the Brazilian Embassy or Consulate in the country of origin, except for those issued in countries signatory to the Hague Apostille Convention, which must be certified with an apostille by local competent authorities.
Birth certificate	Original or copy, clearly stating parents' full names, unless the applicant's passport already contains such information.
Valid health insurance	The insurance must be valid in Brazil for the entirety of the applicant’s stay in Brazil
Purpose-specific documents	Retirees and Pensioners: Proof of retirement and ability to transfer the income to Brazil in a monthly ammount equal to or greater than US$ 2,000 (two thousand dollars); Proof of receipt of pension benefit for death in an amount equal to or greater than US$ 2,000 (two thousand dollars) monthly; Other regular sources of income to complement the required amount. Digital nomads: Signed declaration, by the applicant, stating his/her ability to work remotely; Letter from the employer in Singapore, stating the applicant’s full name and functions in the organization, as well as a statement in which the employer attest that all functions of the employee can be performed remotely in Brazil. Pay slips in an amount equal to or greater than US$ 1,500 (fifteen hundred dollars) OR bank statements for the last 3 months proving availability of funds in an amount equal to or greater than US$ 18,000 (eighteen thousand dollars).

Visa Fee and Processing Time

VITEM XIV fee is S$ 150.00.

On a reciprocity basis, distinct visa fees applies for citizens of:

Argentina: free of charge;
United Kingdom: S$ 322.50 (only if duration of stay exceeds 180 days);
USA: S$ 375.00.

Payment must be made through one of the following options:

PayNow transfer to PayNow ID (UEN) S68DP0048C or by scanning the QR code below;
FAST transfer or cash deposit at United Overseas Bank (UOB), account number: 339332338-6 - Embassy of Brazil;
Please input applicant's name or application number in the "reference" or "comment" field when using PayNow or FAST transfers;
In case of multiple applications, a single payment can be made for the total ammount.

Visas are processed in 24 hours, with collection on the next working day.

Please note that processing time may be extended in times of heavy workload or due to unforeseen circumstances.

Remarks

Please note that issuing or denying a visa is a sovereign act of Governments. It is a prerogative applied by every country and strengthened by international practice.
The requirements are not all-inclusive. When processing a visa submission, the Embassy may request additional information/documentation. All required supporting documentation must be issued in Singapore or be easily verifiable by the Consular Section.
The Embassy accepts visa submissions by the applicant in person or by a third party, acting on his/her behalf, or a travel/visa agency in Singapore. The Embassy cannot and will not recommend any such firm.
A visa shall be denied to any foreign citizen who, when submitting his/her application, behaves in an aggressive, insulting or disrespectful way.
