VITEM XI - Family Reunion

For family members of Brazilian or foreign nationals residing in or moving to Brazil.

Eligibility

Foreign citizens that wish to establish temporary residency in Brazil, as follows.
- Married to a Brazilian national resident in Brazil or a foreigner with a residence permit issued in Brazil (RNM) (marriages celebrated by Power of Attorney are NOT eligible for a Family Reunion visa);
- Child/grandchild of a Brazilian national resident in Brazil or a foreigner with a residence permit in Brazil (RNM);
- Parent/grandparent of a Brazilian national resident in Brazil or a foreigner with a residence permit in Brazil (RNM);
- Sibling, under 18 years old, of a Brazilian national resident in Brazil or a foreigner with a residence permit in Brazil (RNM);
- Tutor/guardian of a Brazilian national resident in Brazil.
The declaration of residence signed by the Brazilian relative (caller) is mandatory and the false declaration is a criminal offence.

Terms and Conditions

Based on Interministerial Ordinance No. 12/2018.
The holder of the visa may perform remunerated activities while in Brazil.
Temporary Visas are issued for up to 1 year and the initial residency period is determined by Federal Police upon registration in Brazil, up to 1 year.

Those granted with a residence permit for more than 1 year may continue to enter Brazil throughout their temporary residency period with a valid passport and a Brazilian National Migratory Registry Card - CRNM (previously, National Registry of Foreigners - RNE).

Holders of any Temporary Visa must register with the Federal Police in Brazil within 90 days from first arrival in the country. Applicants will receive a Visa Application Form from the Embassy upon the issuance of the visa, which must be presented for such registration.

Required Documents

Document	Remarks
Application form	Fill-out the Online Visa Application Form; Click "SEND" to receive your processing number and receipt; Print the receipt; Attach one PASSPORT SIZE color photograph over white background. Snapshots and computer pictures are not accepted; SIGN the receipt and deliver it to the Consular Section together with all other required documents (walk-in basis, no appointment needed).
Passport	Valid for no less than 6 months (damaged or defaced passports will not be accepted); With at least 2 blank visa pages remaining (exluding those marked for amendments and observations).
Criminal background check	For those over 18 years old: Issued within the past 90 days by the Singapore Police Force (Certificate of Clearance - COC) and for every country the applicant has lived in for the past 12 months; Documents not issued in Singapore must be apostilled by the issuing country's competent authority or certified by the Brazilian Embassy or Consulate in the country of origin;
Proof of relationship with the caller	For husband/wife/partners: Original marriage certificate; If married to a Brazilian national, the certificate must have been issued in Brazil or by one of its diplomatic missions; Foreign certificates issued outside Singapore must be certified by the Brazilian diplomatic representation in the issuing country, except for those issued in countries signatory to the Hague Apostille Convention, which must be certified with an apostille by local competent authorities; For children, grandchildren, siblings, parents or grandparents: Original, full version, birth certificate; If issued outside Singapore, it must be duly certified by the Brazilian diplomatic representation in the issuing country, except for those issued in countries signatory to the Hague Apostille Convention, which must be certified with an apostille by local competent authorities; For tutors/guardians: Original tutorship/guardianship document.
Caller's identification document	Original passport, valid Brazilian identity card or RNM/RNE card; If the caller is already in Brazil, certified copies of these documents are accepted
Caller's statement	Written statement, from the caller, that he/she lives or is about to live in Brazil; Brazilian nationals and foreigners with a valid RNM/RNE card may present and sign such statement at a Brazilian notary or at the Embassy; for all others the document must be certified by a Notary Public in Brazil or Singapore;
Birth certificate	Original or clear copy, stating parents' full names, unless the applicant's passport or marriage certificate already contains such information;
Air ticket	Valid ticket (one-way ticket accepted), showing the airline's booking code (travel agent's or any other third party's code will not be accepted); Applications with only a flight pre-booking or intend itinerary will not be entertained.
CPF (Brazilian Individual Taxpayer Registry)	If you already have, please provide it along with the other documents; If not, please click here and follow the instructions to apply for it.

Visa Fee and Processing Time

VITEM XI fee is S$ 150.00.

On a reciprocity basis, distinct visa fees applies for citizens of:

United Kingdom: S$ 322.50 (only if duration of stay exceeds 180 days);
USA: S$ 435.00.

Payment must be made through one of the following options:

PayNow transfer to PayNow ID (UEN) S68DP0048C or by scanning the QR code below:
FAST transfer or cash deposit at United Overseas Bank (UOB), account number: 339332338-6 - Embassy of Brazil;
Please input applicant's name or application number in the "reference" or "comment" field when using PayNow or FAST transfers;
In case of multiple applications, a single payment can be made for the total ammount.

Visas are processed in 24 hours, with collection on the next working day.

Please note that processing time may be extended in times of heavy workload or due to unforeseen circumstances.

Remarks

Please note that issuing or denying a visa is a sovereign act of Governments. It is a prerogative applied by every country and strengthened by international practice.
The requirements are not all-inclusive. When processing a visa submission, the Embassy may request additional information/documentation. All required supporting documentation must be issued in Singapore or be easily verifiable by the Consular Section.
The Embassy accepts visa submissions by the applicant in person or by a third party, acting on his/her behalf, or a travel/visa agency in Singapore. The Embassy cannot and will not recommend any such firm.
A visa shall be denied to any foreign citizen who, when submitting his/her application, behaves in an aggressive, insulting or disrespectful way.
