VITEM II - Health Care

For foreign patients undergoing health treatment in Brazil and their companion.

Eligibility

Foreign citizens that wish to establish temporary residency in Brazil as follows:

to undergo health treatment for a period over 90 days;
accompanying a VITEM II holder or applicant during his/her treatment (only one person per holder, unless there is a medical requirement for more).

Eligible dependents of a VITEM II visa holder or applicant may apply for a Temporary Visa XI - Family Reunion.

Terms and Conditions

Based on Interministerial Ordinance No. 8/2018;
Holders of VITEM II (including the accompanying person) may not engage in paid activities while in Brazil.
It is the responsibility of the sponsor, promoter or employer to make all necessary arrangements related to the contract in Brazil, prior to the lodging of the visa application.
Temporary Visas are issued for up to 1 year and the residency period is determined by Federal Police upon registration in Brazil (see below).
- The residency period may be renewed by the Federal Police as long as the treatment continues, in which case the foreigner may continue to enter Brazil throughout their temporary residency period with a valid passport and a Brazilian National Migratory Registry Card - CRNM (previously, National Registry of Foreigners - RNE).
Holders of any Temporary Visa must register with the Federal Police in Brazil within 90 days from first arrival in the country. Applicants will receive a Visa Application Form from the Embassy upon the issuance of the visa, which must be presented for such registration.

For VITEM II holders, registration with Federal Police may also be done by the foreigner's husband, wife, partner, parent, child or legal representative.

Required Documents

Document	Remarks
Application form	Fill-out the Online Visa Application Form Click "SEND" to receive your processing number and receipt; Print the receipt; Attach one PASSPORT SIZE color photograph over white background. Snapshots and computer pictures are not accepted; SIGN the receipt and deliver it to the Consular Section together with all other required documents (walk-in basis, no appointment needed).
Passport	Valid for no less than 6 months (damaged or defaced passports will not be accepted); With at least 2 blank visa pages remaining (exluding those marked for amendments and observations).
Criminal background check	Issued within the past 90 days by the Singapore Police Force (Certificate of Clearance - COC) and for every country the applicant has lived in for the past 12 months; Documents not issued in Singapore must be apostilled by the issuing country's competent authority or certified by the Brazilian Embassy or Consulate in the country of origin.
Birth certificate	Original or clear copy, stating parents' full names, unless the applicant's passport already contains such information. Certified English translation must be provided if the document is not issued in English.
Proof of immigration status	For non-Singaporeans/PR, original or front and back copy of the applicable pass (EP, S Pass, DP, LTVP, Student Pass, etc.); For permanent residents, original or front and back copy of the NRIC ("blue IC").
Flight itinerary	Clearly stating the expected arrival date in Brazil (one-way ticket accepted).
Treatment-related documents	Medical report or referral letter; Cost estimate for the treatment; Proof of means to pay for the treatment, either with own resources, a valid health insurance policy or an international treaty covering such expenses; Signed statement, by the doctor, hospital or clinic in charge of the tratment that the costs of the treatment will not be beared by the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS).
Proof of financial capacity	Original bank account statement indicating transactions and available balance for, at least, the past three months.
CPF (Brazilian Individual Taxpayer Registry)	If you already have, please provide it along with the other documents; If not, please click here and follow the instructions to apply for it.

Note: any accompanying person applying for a VITEM II must also present all the documents stated above, except for the ones regarding the treatment (medical report, cost estimate and doctor/hospital/clinic statement)

Visa Fee and Processing Time

VITEM II fee is S$ 150.00.

On a reciprocity basis, distinct visa fees applies for citizens of:

Germany: free of charge;
United Kingdom: S$ 322.50 (only if duration of stay exceeds 180 days);
USA: S$ 435.00.

Payment must be made through one of the following options:

PayNow transfer to PayNow ID (UEN) S68DP0048C or by scanning the QR code below:
FAST transfer or cash deposit at United Overseas Bank (UOB), account number: 339332338-6 - Embassy of Brazil;
Please input applicant's name or application number in the "reference" or "comment" field when using PayNow or FAST transfers;
In case of multiple applications, a single payment can be made for the total ammount.

Visas are processed in 3 working days.

Please note that processing time may be extended in times of heavy workload or due to unforeseen circumstances.

Remarks

Please note that issuing or denying a visa is a sovereign act of Governments. It is a prerogative applied by every country and strengthened by international practice.
The requirements are not all-inclusive. When processing a visa submission, the Embassy may request additional information/documentation. All required supporting documentation must be issued in Singapore or be easily verifiable by the Consular Section.
The Embassy accepts visa submissions by the applicant in person or by a third party, acting on his/her behalf, or a travel/visa agency in Singapore. The Embassy cannot and will not recommend any such firm.
A visa shall be denied to any foreign citizen who, when submitting his/her application, behaves in an aggressive, insulting or disrespectful way.
