VIPER - Uruguayan nationals

For permanent residency of Uruguayan nationals.

Eligibility

Foreign citizens from Uruguay that wish to establish permanent residency in Brazil;
Non-Uruguayan, eligible dependents of a VIPER visa holder or applicant may apply for a Temporary Visa XI - Family Reunion.

Terms and Conditions

Based on Decree 9.089/2017;
Permanent Visas are issued for up to 1 year and the residency period is indefinite.
- After the expiration of the visa, the foreigner may continue to enter Brazil with a valid passport and a Brazilian National Migratory Registration Card - CRMN (previously, National Foreign Registration - RNE).
Holders of a Permanent Visa must register with the Federal Police in Brazil within 90 days from first arrival in the country. Applicants will receive a Visa Application Form from the Embassy upon the issuance of the visa, which must be presented for such registration;
Eligible foreign citizens as defined above may also enter Brazil under a Visit Visa waive and register themselves at the Brazilian Federal Police for the Permanent Residence permit, without the need of a Permanent Visa.

Required Documents

Document	Remarks
Application form	Fill-out the Online Visa Application Form; Click "SEND" to receive your processing number and receipt; Print the receipt; Attach one PASSPORT SIZE color photograph over white background. Snapshots and computer pictures are not accepted; SIGN the receipt and deliver it to the Consular Section together with all other required documents (walk-in basis, no appointment needed).
Passport	Valid for no less than 6 months (damaged or defaced passports will not be accepted); With at least 2 blank visa pages remaining (exluding those marked for amendments and observations).
Criminal background check	Issued within the past 90 days by the Singapore Police Force (Certificate of Clearance - COC) and for every country the applicant has lived in for the past 5 years; Documents not issued in Singapore must be apostilled by the issuing country's competent authority or certified by the Brazilian Embassy or Consulate in the country of origin
Declaration of international non-criminal conviction	Signed personal declaration under the penalties of the law of absence of international criminal or police record.
Birth certificate	Original or clear copy, stating parents' full names, unless the applicant's passport already contains such information.
Air ticket	Valid ticket (one-way ticket accepted), showing the airline's booking code (travel agent's or any other third party's code will not be accepted); Applications with only a flight pre-booking or intend itinerary will not be entertained.
CPF (Brazilian Individual Taxpayer Registry)	If you already have, please provide it along with the other documents; If not, please click here and follow the instructions to apply for it.

Visa Fee and Processing Time

VIPER is free of charge.
Visas are processed in 24 hours, with collection on the next working day.

Please note that processing time may be extended in times of heavy workload or due to unforeseen circumstances.

Remarks

Please note that issuing or denying a visa is a sovereign act of Governments. It is a prerogative applied by every country and strengthened by international practice.
The requirements are not all-inclusive. When processing a visa submission, the Embassy may request additional information/documentation. All required supporting documentation must be issued in Singapore or be easily verifiable by the Consular Section.
The Embassy accepts visa submissions by the applicant in person or by a third party, acting on his/her behalf, or a travel/visa agency in Singapore. The Embassy cannot and will not recommend any such firm.
A visa shall be denied to any foreign citizen who, when submitting his/her application, behaves in an aggressive, insulting or disrespectful way.
