Roles
The Science, Technology and Innovation Section (SECTEC) of the Embassy of Brazil in Singapore is part of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ technology fostering network. Its objectives are to enable opportunities for international technological cooperation, to highlight the potentials of Brazilian science, technology and innovation and to contribute to the development of the country.
SECTEC offers support to Brazilian researchers, entities and entrepreneurs in the technology and innovation business who are looking for:
- information on foreign innovation markets and ecosystems;
- access to local importing companies;
- contact with Brazilian entrepreneurs working in the foreign market and with the local Brazilian scientific diaspora (mentors);
- facilitation in the dialogue with research institutes, technological parks, incubators and accelerators, co-working environments, chambers of commerce and foreign government agencies;
- preparation of agenda with investors, including angel investors and venture capital funds, potential clients, distributors and partners;
- identification of local service providers;
- support involving trade complaints or customs issues.
