SUPPORT STAFF AT THE AMBASSADOR’S RESIDENCE (HOUSEKEEPER)
The Selection Committee appointed by the Ambassador of Brazil in Seoul by the Order of Service from August 11, 2022, in the exercise of its powers, hereby announces that the selection process for one part-time vacancy for the role of Support Staff (Housekeeper) at the Ambassador’s Residence is open for applications within the following terms:
1. POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.1. The Support Staff at the Ambassador’s Residence is a local staff member hired to perform housekeeping tasks, as defined in the contract. The employee’s duties will be carried out at the Residence of the Ambassador of Brazil in Seoul, as assigned by the Ambassador or any representative appointed by the her.
1.2. The key duties and responsibilities for the role of Support Staff (Housekeeper) at the Ambassador’s Residence include but are not limited to:
1.2.a. Performing cleaning activities such as mopping, sweeping, dusting, polishing, and vacuuming;
1.2.b. Doing laundry, ironing and wardrobe management;
1.2.c. Running errands and organizing the home;
1.2.d. Overseeing the work of services providers that may be done in the house;
1.2.e. Other assignments as needed and required by the Residence.
2. COMPENSATION
2.1. The initial gross monthly salary will be KRW 1,100,000 (one million and one hundred thousand won), plus two annual bonuses of the same amount. Mandatory expenses such as social security contributions, insurances and taxes will be deducted from the gross salary.
2.2. In addition, the employee shall receive a food allowance up to 20% of the monthly salary.
3. APPLICATION
3.1. Applicants must send digitalized copies of all mandatory documents listed under item 3.3 by e-mail to brasemb.seul@itamaraty.gov.br (not exceeding 5MB), with the subject heading “Selection Process 03/2022 – application”, followed by the name of the applicant. Only applications with a full set of required documents will be accepted.
3.2. The application period extends from August 19th to August 31st, 2022.
3.3. Mandatory documents for the application:
3.3.a. Valid identity document;
3.3.b. Proof of regular residence status and legal permission to engage in part-time paid employment in South Korea, in the case of Brazilians or third-country nationals (Alien Registration Card);
3.3.c. Application form duly completed and signed, including phone number and e-mail address (the form is included herein as Annex II);
3.3.d. Signed statement acknowledging that the job being applied for is not a Brazilian civil service post or position (the statement is available on the application form – Annex II);
3.3.e. Signed statement that the applicant does not hold a civil service post or position in Brazil (the statement is available on the application form – Annex II);
3.3.f. Updated Curriculum Vitae;
3.3.g. Certificate proving a minimum of primary education or equivalent;
3.3.h. Brazilian nationals applying for the vacancy (whether or not they hold any other nationality), must also present certificate of Voting Compliance Record (Certificado de Quitação Eleitoral).
3.4. Optional documents:
3.4.a. Cover letter;
3.4.b. Any other relevant professional documents, like letters of recommendation or references from former employers.
3.5. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
3.6. The Embassy of Brazil in Seoul will not sponsor any visa for this job. If the candidate is not a Korean citizen, must already have a visa that allows part-time work.
4. EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT REGIME
4.1. This selection process does not constitute a civil service exam and the role of Support Staff at the Ambassador’s Residence is not a civil service post or position.
4.2. The labour and social security relationships to be established with the successful applicant will be set forth by South Korean legislation.
4.3. The contract of employment will be valid for one year, with a three-month probationary period. If both parties agree, after the first year the contract can be converted into an undetermined period employment contract.
4.4. The working hours are 20 hours per week, morning time (from 8am to noon or from 9am to 1pm, to be agreed). They may include shifts and the applicant must meet special demands whenever required.
5. SELECTION PROCESS
5.1. As per the schedule set forth in Annex I herein, the selection process will be carried out in two phases:
5.1.a. CV analysis;
5.1.b. Interview.
5.2. In the CV analysis phase, the Selection Committee reserves the right to reject any applicant whose qualifications are not deemed compatible with the job on offer based on the documents submitted. Candidates with relevant experience will take priority. This phase will have a maximum score of 100 points with an assigned weight of 1. The criteria to be analyzed include education, professional experience, and recommendations from former employers.
5.3. The shortlisted applicants will be called to an interview, which will take place on September 5th, 2022, at the Embassy of Brazil in Seoul. The interview will have a maximum score of 100 points with an assigned weight of 1. The criteria analysis will be based on the applicant’s communication skills.
5.4. The applicant’s overall final grade, for classification purposes, will be the weighted sum of the final grades of the CV analysis and the interview.
5.5. For the interview, applicants are requested to arrive at the Embassy 15 minutes before the set start time, bringing a photo identity document.
6. FILING OF APPEALS
6.1. Applicants will be allowed to file an appeal without suspensive effect against the result of the selection process, pursuant to the schedule attached hereto. The deadline for filing an appeal is 24 hours after the disclosure of the provisional result. The appeal and the reasons for it must be sent to the Selection Committee via the e-mail address brasemb.seul@itamaraty.gov.br.
6.2. Appeals filed after the deadline or in any format other than what is set forth herein will not be accepted.
6.3. The Selection Committee’s decision regarding any appeal will be final.
7. RESULTS
7.1. The final result of the selection process will be published on the website of the Embassy of Brazil in Seoul.
7.2. The selected candidate called to fill the position must present herself to the Embassy’s Administration Sector on the set date to sign the contract.
7.3. This selection process will remain valid for twelve months from the date of the disclosure of the result. During this period, the approved applicants may be called to work, in accordance with their ranking, should new vacancies in the same category of employment become available, whether permanent or temporary.
8. GENERAL PROVISIONS
8.1. Application for the vacancy implies that the applicant knows and accepts all conditions and deadlines set forth herein. Applicants who make a false or inexact statement, or who cannot fulfil the required criteria, will have their application withdrawn at any time.
8.2. Should the selected candidate fail to present herself on the set date, the position will be offered to the next ranked candidate.
8.3. Any situations not described herein will be resolved by the Selection Committee.
