Travel advice and advisories for Brazil
According to 670, of 01/04/2022, the entry into Brazil, by air, is authorized, provided that the following requirements are met:
Rules for travelers arriving by plane in Brazil
- Vaccinated travelers must present proof of vaccination;
- Travelers not fully vaccinated:
- Brazilian citizens or foreign citizens residing in Brazil, or those with a health condition that contraindicates vaccination (attested by a medical report), or those not eligible for vaccination due to age: must present to the airline, before boarding, the document proving a negative test for Covid-19, such as an antigen test or RT-PCR laboratory performed one day before the moment of boarding.
- Foreign citizens who are not fully vaccinated remain prevented from entering the national territory (with exceptions).
Rules applicable to children
- Vaccinated children are covered by the general rules of the ordinance and must present proof of vaccination;
- Unvaccinated children:
- those under the age of twelve who are traveling accompanied are exempt from presenting test for Covid-19, provided that all companions present negative results of RT-PCR or antigen test, done up to one day before the time of departure.
- those aged between two and twelve years, who are traveling unaccompanied, must present negative result of RT-PCR or antigen test, done one day before the moment of departure.
- children under the age of two do not need to submit tests.
Information about the Proof of Vaccination:
- must be printed or presented electronically (proofs that are exclusively in QR-CODE format will not be accepted);
- must contain the name of the traveller, the commercial name or name of the vaccine manufacturer, the number(s) of the lot(s) of the applied dose(s) and the ) date(s) of application of the dose(s);
- vaccines approved by Anvisa, the World Health Organization (WHO) or the authority of the country in which the traveler was immunized are valid;
- the application of the single dose or the last dose of the primary vaccination schedule must have occurred at least 14 days before the date of departure.
Please note that the above regulation refers to entering Brazil and does not exempt travellers from complying with the rules for boarding a plane in Canada.
