DIGITAL NOMAD VISA (VITEM XIV)
General Rules
A “digital nomad” is such considered if the applicant can work for a foreign employee while in Brazil, using information technology to perform his functions remotely. If the applicant works for a company in Brazil, this visa cannot be requested.
Within 30 days of entry in Brazil, holders of this type of visa must register at the Federal Police and submit a copy of the visa application form provided by this Embassy.
Length of stay in Brazil
Up to 1 year.
Required Documents
- Online visa application form (RER)
- Passport original and copy (signed, valid at least for 6 months, at least 2 blank pages);
- Proof of financial capability issued by a non Brazilian paying source:
- In a monthly amount equal to or greater than US$ 1.500,00 (one thousand five hundred US dollars); OR
- availability of bank funds in the amount of US$ 18,000.00 (eighteen thousand US dollars);
- Passport-style photo compliant with ICAO requirements taken in the last 6 months;
- Flight tickets (booked itinerary showing entrance into and exit from Brazil);
- Payment of applicable consular fees by deposit/bank transfer. Deposits/transfers must show the applicant's name;
- Police Clearance Certificate (valid for up to 90 days from the date of issue), from every place the applicant resided in the last 12 months;
- Health insurance (must be valid for the entire stay of the applicant in Brazil);
- Letter (employment contract or other documents proving the relation with the foreign employer), stating the applicant’s full name and tasks, in order to certify that the applicant can work in Brazil as a digital nomad;
- Signed declaration in which the employee attests that all tasks can be performed remotely in Brazil, through information and/or communication technologies (please note that there is no template for this document);
