BUSINESS VISA (VIVIS)
This type of visa is usually granted for the following activities, among others:
- Participation in meetings, fairs and business events, journalistic coverage, prospecting for commercial opportunities, and signing contracts;
- Carrying out an audit or consultancy;
- Performing voluntary work;
- Research, learning or academic extension activities;
- Participation in meetings, fairs and business events, as well as prospecting business opportunities;
- to work aboard a cruise ship along the Brazilian coast, or as an aircraft crew member;
- to carry out maritime activities, on a continuous basis, aboard a vessel or platform flying a foreign flag, which may operate or will be operating in Brazilian jurisdictional waters;
The business visa (VIVIS) is NOT available for activities such as professional training or technical knowledge transfer, which require a pre-approved work visa (VITEM V). In case you have doubts on the type of visa you need to apply for, please contact us via e-mail.
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS
Please use the checklist of documents prepared by the Embassy as a reference.
The following documents might be required:
- Online Visa Application Form (RER)
- Passport original and copy (signed, valid at least 6 months, at least 2 blank pages);
- Proof of financial capability (such as bank statements of the past three months or ITR or paycheck slip);
- Passport-style photo compliant with ICAO requirements taken in the last 6 months;
- Flight tickets (booked itinerary showing entrance into and exit from Brazil);
- Personal Cover Letter with relevant information about the applicant and the intended trip;
- Hotel reservation or similar document;
- Invitation letter from the company or organiser of the event - documents provided by an inviting company or sponsor can be submitted either with signatures notarised in Brazil or, as an alternative, signed digitally and sent via e-mail.
LENGTH OF STAY
The visa holder must not engage in remunerated work in Brazil (receive payment in exchange of work from a Brazilian tax identification number) and the activities must not exceed 90 days.
Extensions (in Brazil only): up to a further 90 days, adding up to a maximum of 180 days in any twelve-month period. Those willing to extend their stay should apply for extension at the closest office of the Brazilian Federal Police.
