Visa Information for G20 Delegates in Brazil
Visa Information for G20 Delegates in Brazil
In light of Brazil's Presidency of the G20 between December 1, 2023 and November 30, 2024, a visa facilitation mechanism has been established for participants of official G20 events.
Indian citizens holding Diplomatic or Official/Service Passports are exempt from appyling for entry visas for stays of up to 90 days.
For nationals of India and other G20 member states, as well as guest countries, a courtesy visa (VICOR) may be granted if the applicant can present a Note Verbale from their country's Ministry of External Affairs and proof of accreditation for the G20 event.
The Note Verbale should state the details of the applicant’s assignment during the G20 event in Brazil:
I - full name and nationality;
II - type, number, issuing country and expiration date of the travel document;
III - position or function of the foreigner;
IV - the objectives, location and duration of the mission;
V - when applicable, contact of the inviting entity or person in Brazil.
Indian participants in engagement group events may also receive courtesy visas (VICOR), upon presentation of an invitation letter signed by the Brazilian coordinator of the respective group. As an alternative to submitting original documents with signatures notarised in Brazil, documents provided by an inviting company or sponsor can be signed digitally and sent via e-mail.
Participants in civil society events not included in the engagement groups, as well as journalists and press staff covering events linked to Brazil's presidency of the G20, must apply for a regular visitor visa (VIVIS).
Additional instructions and details for visa applications can be found on the following website.
