Caixa Econômica Federal implemented the 100% digital FGTS withdrawal, which allows all workers, including those residing abroad, to request withdrawals through the FGTS App (more information can be obtained on the following website).

After uploading the documentation that proves the right to withdraw, the FGTS App allows both resident and non-resident workers in Brazil to indicate their bank account at any financial institution in Brazil to credit the withdrawal amount.

Considering the new tool made available, Caixa informs that it will process all requests for FGTS withdrawals through the aforementioned application, as of February 1, 2021, and it will no longer be possible to process requests of this type through consular posts abroad.
