Honorary consulates are consular offices subordinate to the Embassies and Consulates General. Their main objectives are to:

provide assistance to Brazilians residing in its area of operation, assisting them in their activities and defending their rights; or those who are in transit, helping them in their difficulties;
promote the development of trade, economic, cultural and scientific relations between Brazil and the consular district in its area of operation;
request, within its competence, the local authorities, the possible measures in favor of commercial and cultural relations with Brazil;
serve as a support element for Brazilian diplomatic missions and consular offices;
carry out any specific act of a consular nature, as requested by the diplomatic mission or consular post to which they are subject.
