Do I require a Visa to travel to Brazil?
Depending on your nationality, type of passport, length of stay and purpose of the trip you may require a Visa to travel to Brazil. Use the orientations below to determine if you need to apply for a Visa. If further assistance is required, write an e-mail to consular.nairobi@itamaraty.gov.br.
Warning: The Embassy of Brazil in Nairobi receives requests only from regular passport holders of Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Somalia, or other citizens who live in those countries and hold a permanent visa/residence permit.
KENYA NATIONALS
Visa required for all holders of common passports.
Visa exemption for holders of Diplomatic, Service and Government Official passports, for a period not exceeding ninety (90) days, for officials not accredited in Brazil. For accredited officials, Visa Exemption for the period of their mission.
BURUNDI NATIONALS
Visa required for all holders of common passports.
Visa exemption for holders of Diplomatic, Service and Government Official passports, for a period not exceeding ninety (90) days, for officials not accredited in Brazil. For accredited officials, Visa Exemption for the period of their mission.
RWANDA NATIONALS
Visa required for all passports.
SOMALIA NATIONALS
Visa required for all passports.
UGANDA NATIONALS
Visa required for all passports.

TRANSIT
A visitor visa WILL NOT be required for transit purposes for foreign citizens traveling on a single trip that contain stopovers or connecting flights in Brazil, as long as the traveler:
a) does not leave the international area of the airport and does not need to go through immigration;
b) holds a single ticket number, even if it was issued by two or more airlines that have a business agreement or have codeshare tickets.
