VISOF - OFFICIAL VISA
ELIGIBILITY - The official visa is granted for those on an official mission to Brazil, either permanent or temporary, without diplomatic status:
- Foreign authorities and administrative officials, representing a foreign Government recognized by the Brazilian Government, as well as their dependents;
- Foreign authorities and administrative officials, representing an International Organization recognized by the Brazilian Government, as well as their dependents;
- Student, trainee, official or representative of institutions of recognized economic, cultural or scientific relevance of international scope, such as:
- Scientific and cultural missions under an International Agreement;
- Technical assistance missions carried out under agreements that explicitly allow VISOF to technicians, experts and cooperators;
- Cooperation missions with Brazilian Government agencies;
- Military students to attend a course at the Brazilian Armed Forces Academies;
- Foreign students to attend Instituto Rio Branco;
- Director of the French Alliance, Goethe Institute, Miguel de Cervantes Institute, JBIC (Japan Bank for International Cooperation), KFW ("Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau") among others under headquarters agreements;
- Trainees/Interns of diplomatic missions and foreign consular offices or representations of international organizations, recognized by the Brazilian Government.

Visa application form (with photo and signature) |
Fill out the on-line visa application form at https://formulario-mre.serpro.gov.br. When you open the link, press on the message "CONTINUE TO THIS WEB SITE". Print the ¨Visa Form Delivery Receipt¨, paste a PASSPORT SIZE COLOR photograph (3 x 4 cm) over WHITE background (snapshots and computer pictures are not accepted) and SIGN it. It is very important to state the parents' full names, as displayed in your birth/marriage certificate. |

Must have at least two blank pages. Please note that pages reserved for amendments cannot be used for visa purposes. |

Verbal Note |
Verbal Note from the MFA, the Diplomatic Mission, or the International Organization stating the following:

Laissez-passer (only if applicable) |
In the case of an official of an International Organization, the Verbal Note must be accompanied by a laissez-passer of the International Organization. In the absence of a laissez-passer, the International Organization must justify why the foreigner travels on a passport of his/her nationality. |
The printed receipt plus the requested documents must then be presented at the Embassy in person. |
VISA FEE: Official visas are free of charge.
