Artistic and Athletic Activities (VITEM XII)
1) ELIGIBILITY:
Foreign citizens that wish to establish temporary residence in Brazil as follows:
- Professional athletes, artists and supporting technical staff, without employment relationship in Brazil, for a period over 90 days;

Amateur athletes between 14 and 18 years old, to undergo training programs in a Brazilian cultural center or sport club/association .

Eligible dependents of a VITEM XII holder or applicant may apply for a Temporary Visa XI - Family Reunion.
2) TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
The holder of the visa may not have any employment relationship in Brazil and can only perform art or sport related remunerated activities.
For professional athletes, artists and supporting staff, approval of residence permit by the Brazilian Ministry of Justice and Public Security is required, prior to visa application.
Temporary Visas are issued for up to 1 year and the residence period is determined by the Brazilian Ministry of Justice and Public Security and ratified by Federal Police upon registration in Brazil.
Holders of any Temporary Visa must register with the Federal Police in Brazil within 90 days from first arrival in the country. Applicants will receive a Visa Application Form from the Embassy upon the issuance of the visa, which must be presented for such registration.
It is the responsibility of the sponsor, promoter or employer to make all necessary arrangements related to the contract in Brazil, prior to the lodging of the visa application.

For ALL applicants under 18 years old: Original letter of consent signed by father and mother or legal guardian . The signatures of both parents (or of the legal guardian) must be validated by the Public Notary and then by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A model of letter of consent is available here |

The fee for the visa issuance is € 105 Payment for consular services is received through bank transfers or deposits and cash is no longer accepted. The applicant must present proof of payment at the time of attendance. The transfer must be arranged in advance and the receipt must be issued only after payment has been confirmed by the bank. Transfers will not be allowed during the service. Cell phone screenshots and receipts that show the status “in process” (v obdelavi) will not be accepted. In the field “Payment details” (namen plačila), enter the name of the applicant and the service required. Examples: John Doe – passport; José das Couves – marriage registration; Jana Vzorec – visa. Attention:
Registration with the Federal Police (DPMAF) within 90 days of arrival in Brazil. For this purpose, it is mandatory to present the VISA APPLICATION FORM (which is delivered by the Consular Section together with the passport) upon entry.
IMPORTANT: Upon registration, the foreign national must present a document containing both parents' full names (full birth or marriage certificate), which must be duly legalized/apostilled by the competent authority in the issuing country and subsequently translated by a sworn translator (“tradutor juramentado”) in Brazil.The requirements are not all-inclusive. When processing a visa submission, the Embassy may request additional information/documentation.
Remember that a visa to travel to Brazil is NOT YOUR RIGHT, and the Consular Authority reserves the right to request for additional documents not mentioned above or call for an interview, at date and time specified by the Consular Authority.
