Power of Attorney
GENERAL INFORMATION
The power of attorney service is offered exclusively to Brazilian citizens and foreigners holding a valid Brazilian Migration Registration Card (RNE or CRNM). The power of the attorney must be provided by the applicant and written entirely in Portuguese. The Embassy does not draft powers of attorney.
Foreigners without a valid RNE or CRNM must notarize their signature on the power of attorney before a local public notary and then have it legalized by the Embassy (please refer to the information found in this link). The same procedure must be used for powers of attorney drafted in a language other than Portuguese.
Detailed information about the power of attorney service for Brazilian citizens and foreigners holding a valid RNE or CRNM can be found in this link.
The applicant must send the scanned power of attorney to the email consular.lumpur@itamaraty.gov.br and complete the appointment request form: Appointment Request Form. On the day of the appointment, the applicant must present an original and valid Brazilian ID document. The presentation of any other foreign document will not allow the service to be provided.
