ANNOUNCEMENT OF JOB VACANCY FOR THE POSITION OF DEFENCE, NAVY AND AIR ATTACHE SECRETARY
1. Employment Status
Defence, Navy and Air Attaché Secretary is an employee who is hired locally by the Office of the Defence, Navy and Air Attache Attaché at the Embassy of Brazil in Jakarta Advising, managing information, assisting in the execution of their administrative tasks and in meetings, making and canceling appointments. Among the tasks, the Secretary must also, coordinate and control teams and activities, control documents and correspondence, etc. The worker relations of the locally hired employees with the Office of the Defence, Navy and Air Attaché, Brazilian Embassy in Jakarta are subject to the working and social security legislation of the Republic of Indonesia.
2. The Position
There is currently ONE vacancy for the position of Defence, Navy and Air Attaché Secretary whose task is to render services at the Office of the Defence, Navy and Air Attaché at the Embassy of Brazil in Jakarta.
2.1. The employee must perform the following duties:
a) Provision of specialized technical services for the activities of the Defence, Navy and Air Attaché, including:
- interpretation and translation of documents;
- occasional interpreter services;
- dialogue with authorities and other actors in the military and diplomatic field;
- organization of events, meetings and missions.
b) The employee must work under the coordination and guidance of the Brazilian Embassy's Defence, Navy and Air Attaché.
c) The employee must be familiar with Indonesian living conditions, language, usages and customs; be fluent in English, Indonesian and, if possible, Portuguese; be endowed with a refined sense of organization and hierarchy; have adequate computer skills (MS Office, internet, etc.); ability to work as a team.
d) The employee, on occasion, may be asked to perform tasks other than those mentioned above, or even to carry out another role within the same job category.
2.2. Wage:
The gross salary will be US$ 1,250.00 (one thousand, two hundred and fifty dollars) per month, on which the discounts stipulated by Indonesian law will be applied. With incidence of overtime when applicable.
3. Application requirements

3.2. Requirements
The Applicant:
a) Must be an Indonesian citizen or a permanent resident authorized to work in the Republic of Indonesia;
b) Must be at least 18 years of age (as demonstrated by an ID, driver’s license, passport or birth certificate);
c) Must have experience as a secretary and must have a University degree in Social Sciences or similar according to the Indonesian Education system;
d) Must submit a Curriculum Vitae or resume and one or more letters of reference or recommendation;
e) Must submit an up-to-date criminal record;
f) Brazilian citizens must also meet the following requirements:
- be a permanent resident and authorization to work in the Republic of Indonesia;
- be up-to-date with requirements for military enlistment registration;
- be up-to-date with voting obligations;
- submit a statement that the applicant does not hold a position or job with the Brazilian government, either in Brazil or abroad.

The applicant must submit, by August 15, 2023, at 12pm (noon) - by email (daabrazil@gmail.com and daabrazil.aux@gmail.com) or in person at the Embassy reception (opening hours Mon-Thurs 9am-2pm / Friday 9am-1pm) -, the original application form (available on page 6 of this Notice), duly completed and signed, accompanied by copies of the documents described in item 3.2, letters “a” to “d” (in the case of Brazilian candidates, also “f”) to the following address:

3.4 Medical examination results
The successful applicant must submit proof of physical and mental aptitude, as well as a background check, by a date to be determined in due course. All costs associated with this requirement shall be borne by the applicant.
4. Evaluation
4.1. Profile Selection (1st stage)
The Selection Committee will review the qualifications, profiles, and experiences of the applicants based on the documents submitted. The Embassy of Brazil shall not accept incomplete documents or documents delivered after the deadline.
The final result of the profile selection process will be announced, likely on August 21, 2023, and posted on the Embassy’s website (https://www.gov.br/mre/pt-br/embaixada-jacarta). Candidates whose applications are accepted, will also be informed by email.

4.2. Qualification Test (2nd stage)
Candidates whose applications are accepted will take a written test on routine secretarial issues and translations from Indonesian into English and from English into Indonesian.
During the test, no consultation or communication between candidates is allowed, nor any type of equipment.
The test will last four hours. The candidate must answer the questions with black or blue ballpoint pen, and the candidate's name or any other sign that identifies the author of the test cannot appear on the answer sheets. The test that presents any sign that allows its identification will be disqualified.

There will be no second opportunity to take the tests, and candidates who do not attend will be automatically eliminated from the selection process.
The final result of the second stage of the selection process for qualification will be released, probably, on August 30, 2023, and published on the Embassy website (https://www.gov.br/mre/pt-br/embaixada-jacarta). Successful candidates will also be informed by email.

4.3 Interview (3rd stage)
Candidates considered approved in the written test will be called for an oral test to demonstrate fluency, through an interview with an examining board established for this purpose.
The interview will be conducted in both English and Indonesian (Portuguese, whenever is possible), by the Selection Committee.
Date: September 01 to 05, 2023. Applicants will be informed of their interview times in due course.

5. Notification of hiring decision
The result of the selection process will be announced on September 11, 2023, and posted on the Embassy’s website (https://www.gov.br/mre/pt-br/embaixada-jacarta).

6. Period of validity of the selection process results
The results of the selection process will be valid for twelve (12) months after the results are announced. During this time, other candidates deemed qualified may be offered employment, if and when a vacancy occurs in the employment category for which they applied.
