ANNOUNCEMENT OF JOB VACANCY FOR THE POSITION OF AGRICULTURE TECHNICAL ASSISTANT
1. Employment Status
Agriculture Technical Assistant (AST) is an employee who is hired locally by the Office of the Agricultural Attaché at the Embassy of Brazil in Jakarta to render full-time high level specific technical assistant. The worker relations of the locally hired employees with the Office of the Agricultural Attaché, Brazilian Embassy in Jakarta are subject to the working and social security legislation of the Republic of Indonesia.
2. The Position
There is currently ONE vacancy for the position of Agriculture Technical Assistant (AST) whose task is to render services at the Office of the Agricultural Attaché at the Embassy of Brazil in Jakarta.
2.1. Description of Duties
The employee shall perform the following duties:
a) Provision of specialized technical services for the activities of the Agricultural Attaché, including:
- interpretation and translation of documents; occasional interpreter services; dialogue with authorities and other actors in the local agricultural market (importers, exporters, investors, etc.);
- support for trade promotion actions and investments related to agribusiness;
- organization of events, meetings and missions; and
- preparation of studies on the market and local regulations, including sanitary, phytosanitary and customs issues.
b) The employee must work under the coordination and guidance of the Agricultural Attaché of the Embassy.
c) The employee must be familiar with Indonesian living conditions, language, uses and customs; be fluent in English, Indonesian and, if possible, Portuguese; be endowed with a keen sense of organization and hierarchy; knowledge of trade in general, in particular and, if possible, of food and agricultural products; have adequate computer skills (MS Office, internet, etc.); ability to work as a team.
d) The employee, on occasion, may be asked to perform tasks other than those mentioned above, or even to carry out another role within the same job category.
2.2. Salary
The gross salary will be IDR 20.011.195,58 (twenty million, eleven thousand, one hundred ninety-five Indonesian Rupiah and fifty-eight cents) per month, upon which there will be applied the discounts stipulated by the Indonesian law.
3. Application requirements
3.1. Deadline: October 20, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. (noon)
3.2. Requirements
The Applicant:
a) Must be an Indonesian citizen or a permanent resident authorized to work in the Republic of Indonesia;
b) Must be at least 18 years of age (as demonstrated by an ID, driver’s license, passport or birth certificate);
c) Must have a University degree or similar according to the Indonesian Education system;
d) Must submit a Curriculum Vitae or resume and one or more letters of reference or recommendation;
e) Must submit an up-to-date criminal record;
f) Brazilian citizens must also meet the following requirements:
- be a permanent resident and authorization to work in the Republic of Indonesia;
- be up-to-date with requirements for military enlistment registration;
- be up-to-date with voting obligations;
- submit a statement that the applicant does not hold a position or job with the Brazilian government, either in Brazil or abroad.
3.3. Address for submission of application form and other required documents
The applicant must deliver, no later than October 20, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. (noon) — by email (brasemb.jacarta@itamaraty.gov.br) or in person at the Embassy’s reception area (office hours Mon-Thu 9h-14h / Friday 9h-13h) - the original application form (available under page 6 of this Announcement), duly completed and signed, together with copies of documents described under item 3.2, letters “a” to “d” (in case of Brazilian candidates, also “f”) to the following address:

All correspondence related to this selection process must clearly contain the sender's name, address, telephone number and e-mail address.
3.4 Medical examination results
The successful applicant must submit proof of physical and mental aptitude, as well as a background check, by a date to be determined in due course. All costs associated with this requirement shall be borne by the applicant.
4. Evaluation
4.1. Profile Selection (1st stage)
The Selection Committee will review the qualifications, profiles, and experiences of the applicants based on the documents submitted. The Embassy of Brazil shall not accept incomplete documents or documents delivered after the deadline.
The final result of the profile selection process will be announced, likely on October 25, 2022, and posted on the Embassy’s website (https://www.gov.br/mre/pt-br/embaixada-jacarta). Candidates whose applications are accepted, will also be informed by email.

4.2. Qualification Test (2nd stage)
Applicants whose applications are accepted shall take a written test about issues related to international and bilateral trade between Brazil and Indonesia, and translations from Indonesian to English, and from English to Indonesian.
During the test, no consultation or communication between the candidates is allowed, nor will any kind of equipment (except a simple calculator) be allowed.
The test will run for four hours. Applicants must answer the questions with a black or blue ballpoint pen, and the candidate's name or any other identifying sign of the authorship of the test may not appear on the answer sheets. The test that shows any sign that allows its identification will be disqualified.

There will be no second opportunity to take the tests, and applicants who fail to show will be automatically eliminated from the selection process.
The final result of the second stage of qualification selection process will be announced, likely on November 4, 2022, and posted on the Embassy’s website (https://www.gov.br/mre/pt-br/embaixada-jacarta). Applicants approved will also be informed by email.

4.3 Interview (3rd stage)
Candidates considered approved in the written test will be called for an oral test to demonstrate fluency, through an interview with an examining board established for this purpose.
The interview will be conducted in both English and Indonesian (Portuguese, whenever is possible), by the Selection Committee.

5. Notification of hiring decision
The result of the selection process will be announced on November 15, 2022, and posted on the Embassy’s website (https://www.gov.br/mre/pt-br/embaixada-jacarta).

6. Period of validity of the selection process results
The results of the selection process will be valid for twelve (12) months after the results are announced. During this time, other candidates deemed qualified may be offered employment, if and when a vacancy occurs in the employment category for which they applied.
