About SECOM in Helsinki
The Trade Promotion & Investment Section (SECOM) of the Embassy of Brazil in Helsinki is part of a network of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) that consists of 100 representations distributed across all continents, under the coordination of the Department of Trade and Investment Promotion (DPR).
SECOM's main goal is to promote closer economic and commercial ties between Brazil and Finland. Secom supports Brazilian companies that wish to export or invest in Finland and facilitates contacts between potential Finnish investors and commercial partners in Brazil.
Among the main activities carried out by SECOM are the following:
- Support for Brazilian companies interested in exporting to the Finnish market;
- Support for Finnish companies interested in importing Brazilian products or making direct investments in Brazil;
- Dissemination of information on commercial and investment opportunities;
- Development of market research;
- Analysis of the export potential of Brazilian products in the Finnish market;
- Identification of possible obstacles and restrictions to Brazilian exports in Finland and suggestions for overcoming these restrictions;
- Competitiveness and market analysis;
- Support for public and private entities in participating in fairs, business missions and other trade promotion events;
- Share information on trade fairs and other events, as well as public tender and auctions in Brazil.
