Processing Times
The following processing times are estimations, calculated from the date when the all the documentation necessary for the service and the payment of the Consular fees are received.
IMPORTANT: The following processing times are conditioned on the volume of services currently being processed in the Consular Sector and depend on the correct functioning of the technology and information systems involved, such as consular systems, banking network, internet, equipment and hardware, etc.
Applications submitted with incomplete documentation or without due payment will not be processed.
Avoid unnecessary delays: make sure you carefully follow the instructions given in detail on each service's website.
Important:
Don't leave your request for the last minute!
The Consular Section does not offer express services of any kind and does not issue urgent documents.
Please note when planning your requests for the desired services that during the school vacation period (June to August and December to January), there is an increase in demand for consular services and thus, service times may increase.

Processing:
If your application has been submitted correctly (with all the documents necessary for the service, as instructed on our website) it will be able to be processed by the Consular Section. In this case, the Consular Section will give you instructions for the payment of the consular service fee.
In case of pending issues during processing (lack of documents or need for clarification), a Consular Agent will contact you. In this case, as long as there are pending issues, the service cannot be processed.
Processing deadlines will be calculated from the date when the payment of consular fee is received.
Information on service's processing status:
If you have already submitted a service application to the Consular Section, by mail or in person, it is essential to wait for the estimated processing time.
The Consular Section does not provide information on the progress of consular services that are already being processed.
If the deadline for providing your service has expired and you have not yet received any contact from a Consular Agent, please contact the Consular Section by e-mail.
