For short term stays - up to 90 days - with no intention of establishing residence

ATTENTION: From 10 April 2025, citizens of Australia, Canada and the United States will no longer be able to enter Brazil without a Visit Visa.

(Note: the effective date has been updated after been iniatially scheduled to 1st October 2023 and subsequently postponed)

Eligibility

Visit Visa is applicable if you are travelling to Brazil for short stays (up to 90 days) with any of the following purposes and no intention of establishing residence :
Tourism;
Business activities, including meetings, trade fairs, prospection of commercial opportunities, contract signing, auditing and consulting;
Study trips, including academic internship, theological and technical studies (as student or teacher);
Family visit;
Attend congresses, seminaries or conferences;
Volunteer work for religious social assistance entities or non-governmental organizations;
Science, technology or innovation research or cooperation activities, under the umbrella of an international cooperation program with a Brazilian institution (as scientists, professors, researchers or other professionals, employed by a foreign educational or research institution);
Media coverage and/or film-making;
Work as flight/ship crew member without an international crew card (for maritime crew, only those holding a Seafarers' Identity Document issued by countries that have ratified ILO's Convention 185 may enter the country for short stays without a Visit Visa);
Artistic performances and/or competitions (both as an artist or supporting technical staff);
Sports competitions and/or training camps (both as athletes or supporting technical staff);
Medical treatment;
Adoption of a Brazilian child;
Application for residence in Brazil (for an underage child adopted by a Brazilian citizen or resident);
Renewal of an expired Brazilian foreigner registration card (for permanent residents over 60 years old);
Registration or extension of temporary residence in Brazil;
Reissuance of a lost, stolen or damaged Brazilian foreigner registration card;
Transit through Brazil, for those who must leave the international transit area (otherwise no visa is required).
Citizens of the following countries / special administrative regions, holding passports with a minimum validity of 6 months, do not need a visa to enter Brazil for visit purposes and stays of up to 90 days unless otherwise stated:
Albania, Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Armenia, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belarus, Belgium, Belize, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominica, Dominican Republic (60 days), Ecuador, El Salvador, Estonia, Fiji, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia (30 days), Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Kazakhstan (30 days), Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macau, Macedonia, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Moldova, Monaco, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Namibia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, San Marino, Serbia, Seychelles, Singapore (30 days), Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Suriname, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Uruguay, Vatican and Venezuela (60 days).

Required Documents

Document	Remarks
Application Form	Fill out the Online Visa Application Form; Click "SEND" to receive your processing number and receipt; Print the receipt; Attach one PASSPORT SIZE color photograph over white background. Snapshots and computer pictures are not accepted; SIGN the receipt and deliver it to the Consular Section together with all other required documents (walk-in basis, no appointment needed).
Passport	Valid for no less than 6 months (damaged or defaced passports will not be accepted); With at least 2 blank visa pages remaining (excluding those marked for amendments and observations).
Air ticket	Valid return ticket, showing the airline's booking code
Purpose-specific documents	1) Business trips: • Original company letter that must include the applicant’s personal and professional details, specify the activities to be carried out during the trip and intended length of stay in Brazil, taking full financial responsibility for the applicant whilst in the country, as well as the name(s) and telephone number(s) of the contact person(s) in Brazilian territory; 2) Holiday trips: • Original payslips from regular employment, indicating position and salary, for the past three months; OR Original bank account statement indicating transactions and available balance for the past three months; • Congresses, Seminars, Conferences, etc.: If attending as a spectator, proof of registration and proof of financial means (see company letter or bank statement above); OR If attending as a guest, letter from the organizers, with signature dully certified by a notary public, including the applicant’s personal and professional details and intended length of stay in Brazil, as well as the name(s) and telephone number(s) of the contact person(s) in Brazilian territory. If the applicant's expenses are to be covered by the organizers, that information must also be included in the letter. Otherwise, the applicant must present proof of financial means (see company letter or bank statement above); 3) Adoption of a Brazilian child / adopted underage children: • Copy of the Brazilian or foreign court decision on the adoption; 4) Renewal of an expired Brazilian foreigner registration card: • Original Brazilian foreigner registration card; • Proof (i.e., immigration stamps) that the applicant was not absent from Brazil for more than 2 straight years; 5) Registration or extension of temporary residence in Brazil: • Proof of application for registration or extension, issued in the past 12 months; • Reissuance of a lost, stolen or damaged Brazilian foreigner registration card: • Police report; • Proof (i.e., immigration stamps) that the applicant was not absent from Brazil for more than 2 straight years; 6) Underage applicants: • In addition to the specific documents stated above, parental travel consent, signed by both parents at the Embassy or Notary Public in Brazil or other legalised/appostilled consent document, presenting parent's original passport and the applicant's Birth Certificate.

Visit visa fee is VND 2.400.000 and should be paid through bank transfer to the Embassy’s account below:
