Artists and sportspersons (VITEM III)
a) General rules
- Based on Normative Resolution No. 69/2006 (Portuguese only).
- Performing artists and sportspersons, including assistants and technicians, who receive payment from a Brazilian source (though there is no employment relationship) must have this type of visa.
- Approval of work contract by the Brazilian Ministry of Labour is required.
- The sponsor, promoter or employer is responsible for making all necessary arrangements related to the contract in Brazil, prior to the lodging of the visa application.
b) Length of stay in Brazil
First granted period: up to 90 days.
Extensions (application in Brazil only): up to a further 90 days.
Those willing to extend their stay should apply for extension at the Brazilian Federal Police.

Visa application form |
Must be filled in online (click here). Please print and bring the Visa Request Form Receipt (RER) to the appointment. It is very important to state the parents’ full names, as displayed in your birth/marriage certificate. Please note: the Consular Section will only accept applications in which the required documents on this table have been uploaded to the form. |

Original full birth certificate |
If Irish, present the Certified Copy of an Entry of Birth – full form. In the absence of the full birth certificate, the applicant may submit another official document that contains the parents’ full names. The birth certificate must be legalized (get an apostille) by the competent authority in the issuing country. Documents issued in Ireland are legalized by the legalised by the DFA - Department of Foreign Affairs. |
