Temporary Visa – FAMILY REUNION (VITEM XI)
IMPORTANT: The online form must be filled using the applicant's full names as recorded in the passport. Applications where the names in the form do not match those in the applicant's documents will NOT be approved.
Based on reciprocity, features and fees of visas vary depending on the applicant’s nationality and visit purpose.
When processing a visa submission, the Embassy may request additional information/documentation.
Remember that a visa to travel to Brazil is NOT A RIGHT, and the Consular Authority reserves the right to request for additional documents not mentioned above or call for an interview, at date and time specified by the Consular Authority.

The family reunion visa will only be granted if the applicant intends to reside permanently in Brazilian territory.

STEP 1 - Submit your request online:
The applicant must start applying through the online form. Make sure to fill out all necessary information and upload the mandatory documents on the system. This is a crucial step on your application. Note: the photograph uploaded must be recent, with white or neutral background. You can read more regarding the mandatory documents for a VITEM XI below.
STEP 2 - Send your application by e-mail to the Consular Section:
The applicant must submit by e-mail to consular.doha@itamaraty.gov.br:
1) Visa application receipt (RER) filled online with all required documents and photograph uploaded, and
2) Payment receipt.
MANDATORY DOCUMENTS:
- From the Brazilian citizen (caller/chamante):
- Brazilian Passport;
- Brazilian Birth Certificate;
- Brazilian ID;
- Responsability Maintenance Form;
- Handwritten declaration, under the penalties of the law, that the caller resides or will reside in Brazil;
- Travel ticket to Brazil (if applicable).
- From the applicant:
- Visa Application Form (online, printed and signed);
- Birth or Marriage Certificate. Must be translated for English if in Arabic language;
- Document proving kinship with the caller/chamante;
- Qatari ID;
- Passport;
- Police Clearance Certificate;
- Declaration, under the penalties of the law, that the caller resides or will reside in Brazil
- Travel ticket to Brazil;
- Proof of sufficient financial means (bank statement, company lettter, sponsor letter).
By instruction of the Brazilian Federal Police, persons applying for temporary visas must have a legalized birth certificate with a certified translation to Portuguese when traveling to Brazil.
IMPORTANT: if the applicant is a minor (under 18 years old), documents from both parents must be included in the request; Also, the issuance of the visa requires a written authorization form from both parents. They also must sign the Visa Application Form in front of the Brazilian Consular Authority.
If parents are divorced, they must bring a legal document (court decision) stating that the parent who is taking the minor to Brazil has the legal guardianship of the child. Also, a written consent form the parent who is not moving to Brazil should be included;
If one of the parents is deceased, a death certificate should be presented.
After processing, if the visa is APPROVED, an e-mail will be sent with a scheduled date for collection of the visa.

VISA FEES ARE NOT REFUNDABLE.
