PASSPORT FOR ADULTS – HOW TO REQUEST

Step 1 – Fill the Passport Request Form (click here to access the requirement online), and upload the following documents: 

- Recent photograph with white/neutral background;

- Brazilian Birth certificate, Marriage certificate or document attesting naturalization;

- Passport copy (latest passport); 

- Electoral Clearance Certificate (Certidão de Quitação Eleitoral). Click here to obtain the certificate. Requests containing only the Voter's card (Título de Eleitor) will not be accepted;

- For citizens 18 and older, when applicable, Military enlistment certificate or Military clearance certificate, and

- Print the RER (Recibo de Entrega de Requerimento). The RER must be signed in front of the consular agent at the moment of the collection of the new passport. 

IMPORTANT: the name filled out on the online form must be exactly the same as the full name on the Brazilian Birth certificate or equivalent document, no abbreviations. 

Step 2 – Send to the e-mail to consular.doha@itamaraty.gov.br:

- RER (Recibo de Entrega de Requerimento);

- Brazilian Birth certificate, Marriage certificate or document attesting naturalization;

- Passport copy (latest passport);

- Electoral Clearance Certificate (Certidão de Quitação Eleitoral); 

- For citizens 18 and older, when applicable, Military enlistment certificate or Military clearance certificate, and

- Payment receipt of the consular fees (find information regarding the payment below).

Passport requests not including the upload of the required documents or photograph will not be processed.

     Step 3 – For the collection of the new passport, after a date and a time are informed, come to the Consular Section with the following documents:

• Latest passport - which will be cancelled and returned to the holder;
• RER (Recibo de Entrega de Requerimento) to be signed in front of the consular authority;
• Original Birth or Marriage certificate (copies can only be accepted if authenticated or if they contain a QR code for digital verification);
• Electoral clearance certificate, and
• Military enlistiment certificate or military clearance certificate (if applicable).

Important: The average issuance time, from receipt of complete documentation to collection of the document, is 15 to 20 working days. We kindly ask you to apply for a passport in plenty of time, especially in the run-up to major national holidays (Eid holidays, Qatar National Day, and end-of-year festivities).
