Procedure for documents issued in Qatar to be valid in Brazil:
a) Bring the documents to the Consular Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar (MOFA) to be legalized; and,
b) the document already legalized by MOFA should also be legalized at the Consular Section of the Embassy of Brazil in Doha.
Important: in case the document is not written in Portuguese, its translation must be done in Brazil, by a public sworn translator, after the legalization of the document by the Consular Section of the Embassy of Brazil in Doha.
IMPORTANT: as stated by the Presidential Decree nº 8.742, published on 5/4/2016, documents issued by the Consular Section of the Embassy (power of attorney, civil registrations, statements) are valid in Brazil, and do not require further legalization by the Itamaraty. These documents may be signed by various officers in the Brazilian Foreign Service (deputy consuls, vice-consuls and charge d’affaires, among others), therefore not requiring the signature of the Chief of the Consular Post.
If a document issued by the Consular Section of the Embassy of Brazil in Doha is not accepted, inform us via e-mail at consular.doha@itamaraty.gov.br.

Legalization of Documents Issued in Brazil
The General Coordination of Legalizations and of the Foreign Consular Network (in Portuguese, CGLEG), unit responsible for matters concerning legalization of documents issued in Brazil, along with the authorized MRE Regional Offices, are the places in which documents issued in Brazil can be legalized. The document must be previously recognized by a Notarial Office when its purpose is to produce effects in the country of destination and also when the destination country demands such procedure. After the legalization by CGLEG or the Regional Offices, the document should be legalized at the Embassy or Consular Section of the country of destination.
