The Ambassador of Brazil to Tanzania, Gustavo Nogueira, visited on June 12th and 13th the south-south cooperation projects implemented by Brazil and Tanzania in Mwanza region. At TARI-Ukiriguru, he participated in the handover ceremony, under the Cotton Victoria Project, of farm implements and tools, including tractor, ploughs, planters, sprayers, harvesters and ginning machines donated by the Government of Brazil to Tanzania. The project aims to increase the productivity of cotton farming by the dissemination of modern agricultural pratices.
Ambassador Nogueira also visited activities of the Beyond Cotton Project, in which Brazil, Tanzania and WFP partnered to increase cotton productivity, promote food security and add value to the cotton sector in three districts of Mwanza region.
