TEMPORARY VISA XIV
DIGITAL NOMADS
a) General Rules
A “digital nomad” is such considered if the applicant can work for a foreign employee while in Brazil, using information technology to perform their functions remotely. If the applicant works for a company in Brazil, this visa cannot be requested.
Within 30 days of entry in Brazil, holders of this type of visa must register at the Federal Police (click here) and submit a copy of the visa application form provided by this Embassy.

Up to 1 year.

a) Completion instructions: - The form must be filled in online. There is no printable version available for download. - Enter complete information – please note that some fields are mandatory. - Parents' names must be entered in full (name and surname), exactly as displayed in the applicant's birth certificate. - Upload the digital copies of all documents listed below (items 2 to 6). Applications without the uploaded documents will not be accepted. - Click on the "Complete Application" button to generate the Visa Request Form Receipt (RER). b) After the form is concluded: - Print and sign the RER; affix your photo on the indicated field. - Gather all original documents listed below. They must be presented during your interview at the Embassy, in addition to the RER. Please note: documents in digital format must be printed. Documents shown on mobile device screens will not be accepted. |

Valid passport |
Must have at least two blank pages. Please note that pages reserved for amendments cannot be used for visa purposes. |

One passport photo |
The photo must be recent, against white background, in the local standard specifications. |

Police check |
Police checks are valid for up to 3 months from the date of issue. Please note: if the applicant has lived in multiple countries within the last 12 months, a police check from each country of residence must be provided. They must also be duly legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and translated by a certified translator. |

Original full birth certificate* |
In the absence of the full birth certificate, the applicant may submit another official document that contains the parents’ full names. *Attention: submitting this document is intended to prevent any discrepancies between the information contained in the visa application and the birth certificate itself. As the birth certificate will have to be presented during the mandatory registration of the visa with the Federal Police in Brazil, any inconsistent data will preclude the conclusion of this process. |

Valid health insurance |
The insurance must be valid in Brazil for the entirety of the applicant’s stay. |

Documentation from employer |
Notarized letter from the employer abroad, stating the applicant’s full name and functions in the organization, as well as a statement in which the employer attests that all functions of the employee can be performed remotely in Brazil. |

Proof of income |
Pay slip in a monthly amount equal to or greater to US$ 1.500 or bank statements for the last 3 months as proof of funds in the amount of US$ 18.000. (Original contract of employment or services agreement may be asked if deemed necessary) |

TRANSFER OF RETIREMENT INCOME AND/OR DEATH PENSION BENEFIT
Temporary Visa XIV, based on the transfer of retirement income and/or death pension benefit, may be granted to retired immigrant or death pension beneficiary who present proof of monthly transfer to Brazil equal or greater than US$ 2,000.00.
b) Validity of the visa
VITEM XIV will be valid for 1 year.

Proof of retirement and ability to transfer monthly to Brazil the amount equal to or greater than US$2,000.00 (must enclose official letter from bank, signed by applicant’s account manager, informing that bank will be able to transfer monthly the amount equal or greater than US$ 2,000.00 or equivalent in British pounds to applicant’s bank account in Brazil); Proof of receipt of monthly pension for death in the amount equal to or greater than US$ 2,000.00 or equivalent; If necessary, proof of other regular sources of income to complement the amount of US$ 2,000.00 or equivalent. |
