Sworn Translation

Sworn translation

a. It is a certified translation carried out by a sworn translator (in Brazil referred to as Official Public Translator and Commercial Interpreter). It is officially recognised by institutions and public authorities, and is regarded as an official document.

b. The Embassy does not provide this service.

c. Before making any translation arrangements, one must check directly with the authority in Brazil where the document will be submitted whether the translation must be carried out by an Official Public Translator and Commercial Interpreter in Brazil or whether it can be done by a certified translator abroad.

d. Please access the websites of the State Trade Boards to see a list of sworn translators in Brazil.

e. All Syrian documents presented to the Embassy to instruct any service request MUST be translated by a sworn translator to one of the following languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish or French.

Warning! 

If the Embassy comes across translations that are not accurate with regards to names, surnames, place and date of birth or any other relevant information, the document will be considered a fraud, and the Embassy will NOT provide the related service. The translator and the applicant will be held responsible and will face the consequences of such fraud.
