- Military conscription is compulsory for all Brazilian men, except clergymen.
- Brazilians living abroad must keep compliance with their military obligations from the age of 18 to 45.
- If you are men aged 18 to 45, you must conscript for military service before applying for a passport.
- Male Brazilian nationals living abroad must enlist up to 30 June of the year they complete 18 years of age at their nearest Brazilian Embassy.
- Brazilians living abroad for at least 3 months may request discharge from military service at or after enlistment.
- The consular authority can enlist Brazilians from 18 up to 45 years of age. After military enlistment, the Brazilian shall receive a Military Draft Certificate - CAM (Certificado de Alistamento Militar).
- Military services rendered by the Embassy are free of charge.
