Discharge
Brazilian conscripts living abroad used to have to report to the Embassy every year for deferment of induction.
This is no longer necessary. It is possible to apply for discharge from military services.
The discharge can also be requested straight after enlistment.

The form (click here) must be duly completed and signed. On the multiple choice column, select the option Discharge Certificate - CDI (Certificado de Dispensa de Incorporação). |

One photocopy of a Brazilian ID document displaying parents' full names (e.g. birth certificate, marriage certificate or identity card). |

Residence declaration |
Only for conscripts under 28 years old. Conscripts over 28 years of age can be discharged from service independently of their length of residence abroad. The following are accepted: proof of address, or document attesting the applicant is enrolled and attending a course, or proof of employment, for at least 3 months. In the absence of any of the above, fill in and present this form. |
