The visa will state an expiration date, which is normally one year from the date of issuance. This refers to the last day when the applicant may travel to Brazil under such visa.
The visa will also state the maximum length of stay, which is normally one year. This refers to how long the bearer of the visa may stay in Brazil from the date of first entry, regardless of the date of expiration of the visa.
Together with the visa, the bearer receives a form. The bearer must bring this form, together with the bearer's passport and the bearer's birth certificate apostilled and translate into Portuguese (unless the passport states the names of the bearer's parents), to register at the Federal Police, in up to 90 days from the first entry.
